UNL Pre-Dental Hygiene Club Meeting on Feb. 12th

UNL Pre-Dental Hygiene Club to Host Educational and Service-Focused Meeting:

The UNL Pre-Dental Hygiene Club will be hosting a meaningful and engaging meeting on Thursday, February 12th, from 6:30–7:30 PM in Louise Pound Hall, Room 25. This upcoming event is designed to bring together students interested in dental hygiene and healthcare through education, service, and professional connection.

The meeting will feature guest speaker Mollie George from the UNL Gerontology Department, who will introduce students to the field of gerontology and discuss the importance of understanding aging populations in healthcare. Her presentation will highlight how knowledge of older adults’ needs is especially relevant for future dental hygiene and allied health professionals.

In addition to the presentation, club members will participate in a service activity by creating Valentine’s cards for local elderly homes, allowing students to give back to the community while promoting compassion and patient-centered care.

The event will also include a visit from UNMC Dental Hygiene students, who will share insight into their academic experiences, clinical training, and the dental hygiene school application process. This will provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions and gain firsthand advice from current dental hygiene students.

Overall, this meeting will offer a balance of education, service, and mentorship, supporting the UNL Pre-Dental Hygiene Club’s mission to prepare students for successful careers in dental hygiene and healthcare.
