As an opportunity for student organizations and individual students to fundraise, generate profit, or gain experience in marketing a product – as well as to promote student-based ingenuity – the CASNR Advisory Board will be hosting an on-campus farmers’ market-style student fair in the spring of 2017 (date TBD). Through this initiative, Advisory Board members, who represent students from the different degree programs in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, would like to facilitate the opportunity for RSOs to fundraise through offering products/services pertaining to their clubs in a fun and dynamic environment (Note: open to all UNL RSOs, not just those considered under CASNR). For example, if your club grows produce, sell produce to students and community members in attendance; if your club knits, market your knitware; if your club juggles, offer juggling equipment (and perhaps lessons for those of us who are minimally coordinated). It will serve not only as a club fundraising opportunity, but an opportunity to showcase the diversity of talent invested by students in the various clubs at this university. In short, the CASNR Advisory Board would like to extend an invitation to all interested university RSOs to participate in the upcoming spring event. This notice is to gauge interest level only; details to follow. Please submit your booth proposal* and any questions by e-mail to Reilly Grealish at reillygrealish@yahoo.com by February 1st.
*Proposals do not have to be finalized nor will they count as a binding statement of commitment. Rough ideas are acceptable. As you meet with your executive committees and with members at the beginning of spring semester, we will provide further detail and allow you to develop your ideas a bit more.
