Manage RSO Leadership Transitions

Change

Change and transitions for RSOs is an ongoing process. When transition or change occurs, make sure new advisors and officers are set up for success. When leadership changes occur, NvolveU 2.0 must be updated.

NvolveU 2.0 is the RSO data base system. RSO leadership information needs to be updated. Incomplete or incorrect information could result in the RSO being out of compliance.

Transition of advisors and officers is a common occurrence in RSOs. Use the following suggestions for a smooth transition process.

Advisors: If you are stepping down as an advisor for any reason (sabbatical, retirement, leaving University), contact the RSO president and inform them when you plan to step down. If possible, work with the RSO to find a new Advisor or instruct the officers to contact Student Involvement to begin the process of finding a new advisor. Once a new Advisor has been secured, update the information on NvolveU.

Officers: Provide transition materials to the new officers. Update NvolveU with the names of the new officers before you leave office.

If your RSO needs additional help with the leadership transition process, please contact Student Involvement.
