“We can begin by doing small things at the local level, like planting community gardens or looking out for our neighbors. That is how change takes place in living systems, not from above but from within, from many local actions occurring simultaneously.” – Grace Lee Boggs

Helpful Highlight

Each newsletter I will be sharing tips, campus resources, and skills that can help you personally, academically, and professionally.

This week’s highlight is the Center for Civic Engagement!

The UNL Center for Civic Engagement encourages students to connect curricular and co-curricular learning with opportunities to address critical human need through service, civic-related research and social change leadership. Visit with someone from the Center to volunteer with tax preparation, apply to be part of Big Red Integrity, or connect with a local non-profit.

Engaging your local and global community is a great opportunity to learn others’ stories, practice citizenship, broaden your worldview, develop your skills, and make a difference.
