Favorite book and why:
“I am Malala” is probably my favorite book. I think it touches an array of topics beautifully such as injustice and discrimination that women and people face everywhere every day.

Favorite movie and why:
Ferris Beuller’s Day Off for sure! It is such a funny light hearted movie and I think the humor in it is unmatched.

Why Global Studies?
I chose Global Studies because I love how interdisciplinary it is. I wanted a major which I could specialize in exactly what I want, and focus on my interests. I also chose to minor in French and Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (HRHA) to better specialize my major. I want to be able to connect with a larger group of people around the world, in order to this I chose my minor in French. As for HRHA, I am focusing on Human Rights and Identity for my core themes of my major, and this minor only adds to my learning and adds more depth into my desired field! If I could major in Human Rights I would, but being a Global Studies major only adds to what I am getting out of UNL. I am able to get a more worldly perspective and add more interests to my major. One of my favorite classes that I have taken here at UNL so far is the Refugees, Displaced Persons, and Immigrants, I loved this class because I was able to learn so much that I didn’t know about what is happening around the world every day and learn about individuals experiences around the globe.

Extra-Curricular Involvement:
I plan on studying abroad this summer (covid allow) in Paris for a language intensive course!

What are you post-graduation plans?
After graduation I have so many plans and no idea which order they will go! I hope to partake in the TAPF program in France, and plan on moving to Europe to travel and work. I also want to join the Peace Corps and maybe get a Master’s in Human Right and Democratization. After all is said and done, I want to work for an NGO or a non-profit of some sort!
