Global Course 2022 - January - Africana Studies in the Shenandoah Valley, USA
This January, travel to the Shenandoah Valley and discover a region of the US with a unique Black cultural heritage and rich history that is still prevelant today!

Join Dr. Nikitah Imani in Rockingham County, along the border between Virginia and West Virginia. Visit Zenda, the original post-slavery Africana community, learn more about pioneering African-American educator Lucy F. Simms, and engage with the local community through the Northeast Community Neighborhood Association. This program will give students an insiders perspective into a locale steeped in history and home to numerous cultural sites and academic institutions focused on Africana studies. To conclude the program, the class will visit Washington DC for a full day tour of the National Mall and monuments.

Total cost is about $2,000 and includes airfare, all activities and transportation, hotel accommodations, and some meals.
