Indiana University is accepting applications for its summer 2022 intensive, accelerated Arabic programs.
Students study in an intensive, in-person, immersive setting, covering 1 year of material in 2 months. Classes are capped at 12 and many are smaller. Students meet daily with skills trainers for one-on-one practice at their level. The program offers daily co-curricular activities.
All students pay in-state tuition, regardless of residency, and FLAS Awards, Project GO scholarships, and other funding is available.
Applications are due January 29, 2022.
Special in 2022
• Arabic 4, teaching academic Arabic through daily content seminars with prominent academics and cultural actors from across the Arabic world, combined with language development activities aligned with each week's topic
• Arabic 5, taught as content courses by novelist Alaa al Aswany and academic Dr. Saad alla Agha Alkalaa, with supplemental language support from Indiana University
• Dialect training in Darija, Masri, and Shami
• Supplemental online introductory courses on Arab culture for elementary students.
