-Explore how political beliefs and myths of the Russian people shaped their world outlook
-Discover how folklore has been used as an instrument in the Russian "nation-building" project, what elements of it persist in contemporary Russian society and how they impact the way Russians conceive of the world and their place in it
All readings and discussions will be in English. No prior knowledge of Russian is necessary.
