Highlights of this experience include:
• Visiting hospitals and healthcare facilities that serve patients on different levels of an economic scale and in rural and urban environments; engaging with healthcare professionals about providing care in these diverse spaces
• Learning about and experiencing the history and culture of Rwanda and making connections to health and healthcare
• Reflecting on and engaging with challenges all countries encounter with providing healthcare; applying this to your future as a healthcare professional
• Leading service-learning projects that will impact local people’s health
• Earning 3 credit hours for CASC 392
• Spending a weekend on a wildlife safari in Akagera National Park
