Mountain-Plains Museums Association (MPMA) has put out a call for abstract submittal for the poster sessions. MPMA will meet in Omaha, Nebraska this fall from October 2-4.
Posters are a great way for students to participate actively in the conference and be involved. Museum professionals judge the student posters and 1st and 2nd place awards are designated. Receiving either 1st or 2nd place looks very good on the resume of an emerging professional. New as of last year, a $250 cash award is for 1st place and a $150 cash award for 2nd place.
The deadline for poster proposals is March 1st (although it may get extended to the 15th). Please encourage your students to submit a poster proposal. As Chair of the Poster Session, I work with all students submitting a proposal to reach a final abstract and acceptance into the poster session. The abstract is one element of a poster that the judges consider and assign points.

To qualify as a student poster, all authors must be students. Students should submit the abstract and form as a Word document and not as a pdf.
