Name: Grace Evans
Majors: Global Studies, French, and Political Science
Minors: Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, National Security Studies
Hometown: Omaha, NE
Favorite dish: There are too many to name; I love all food.

Favorite book: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce because it gave me a lot of perspective on how someone changes throughout their lifetime, and the importance education plays in someone’s beliefs. It’s kind of like the ultimate coming-of-age story, plus it’s beautifully written.

Why GLST?
I didn’t like the idea of being limited to one subject, and Global Studies lets you take a wide variety of courses.

Study Abroad Experience.
I am currently studying abroad in Montpellier, France. My daily life in Montpellier isn’t that different from UNL. I go to class and have homework, and usually hang out with other people in the program in the afternoons. On the weekend I can travel, however, and taking weekend trips to places like Paris and Strasbourg are way different from life in NE! I’m also a lot less stressed here because there isn’t as much going on, and planning trips is way more fun than working or writing papers.

Post-graduation Plans:
I plan to go to law school eventually, but will probably live abroad again before I do so. I’d like to apply for a Fulbright or teach English through TAPIF. As for a career, I have genuinely no idea what I want to do, yet!
