Favorite book and why: Too many to name, but probably Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer. It is not only a moving and exciting story, it paints a picture of what a good soldier, and more importantly, a good man, should look like. It strengthens my moral compass as I forward in my life.

Favorite movie and why: Top Gun because it is a classic.

Why Global Studies: I have a wide variety of interests; politics, culture, literature, languages, history, etc. and Global Studies allows me to tie all those together. My favorite classes that I have taken have been POLS 160 (Which is also a GLST class) and GLST 201. And some advice I would give to incoming Freshman would be to take any opportunity that presents itself to you. Study abroad, research, leadership positions, clubs, internships, traveling, etc. Also to get ahead of the work load.

This summer I spent two months in Edinburgh, Scotland. For the first month, I took two classes through Arcadia University, Museum Curation and Scottish History. The second month I did an internship with a small Archaeology firm and developed educational lesson plans for them using 3D printing and scanning technology. I met amazing people and had incredible experiences, but my favorite part was being able to travel around the country and get exposed to the culture. And geek out at all the cool Harry Potter stuff.
Post graduation plans: I am not sure yet. However, right now I think my ideal career would be to work for the State Department or do something with International affairs.

This is a photo of me and my friends on the train that was used as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films.
