Favorite book and why?
Favorite movie and why: I love the movie Inception because it challenges your mind from what is real and unreal. It also has fantastic sound design, picture quality and of course Leonardo Dicaprio.

Why Global Studies?
I chose Global Studies as a minor after I studied abroad in Japan. I loved exploring a new country, meeting diverse people and experiencing different types of food. Architecture and design are my passion, and I wanted to broaden my understanding of international communities. One of the best classes I have taken is Intro into Global Studies because I am applying the knowledge from that class in everyday life. My suggestion for new Global Studies majors and minors is to be open to new experiences. I would have never thought about going to Japan before I started college and the opportunity changed my future.

Education Abroad Experience:
I am currently studying in Japan again, but this time teaching English at Senshu Junior/Senior High School. Through this internship program, I have met so many great people who have welcomed me into their lives here in Japan. I am currently taking calligraphy and Japanese lessons at the school. I love exploring the city of Tokyo on the weekend. I have also been able to travel during school breaks to different regions.

What are you post-graduation plans?
After graduation, I plan to further my education in architecture by enrolling in a Master’s program. My career goal is to design learning environments around the world. I plan to use my experiences from my global studies minor and this internship program in my career as an architect.
