Student Panel: Translating Women, Translating Feminism in a Globalized World
Student Panel: Translating Women, Translating Feminism in a Globalized World

This is the first of three events the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and Global Studies have teamed up to present for the Spring 2018 Colloquia series. This panel will include four students: Ayat Aribi, Zoe Hatfield, Cassy Ross, and Cindi Izaguirre-Perez. Emira Ibrahimpasic, assistant professor of practice and assistant director of Global Studies, will moderate the panel.

This event seeks to explore student perspectives on transnational feminist issues. The students presenting are activists and have also had international experiences from which they have drawn conclusions about lived experiences of women and the feminist movement. Some of questions we will discuss include:
• What does it mean to be a feminist today?
• How do you navigate being a feminist -- here in the US?
• How do you navigate being a feminist when traveling abroad?
• How has your feminism changed as a result of your global experiences?

A reception with light refreshments will follow the discussion. This event is free and open to the public.
