Favorite book and why: It switches a lot but probably 1984 by George Orwell, because although being published in 1949 George was accurate on some aspects of society today and how he was able to grasp my attention with his words.

Favorite movie and why: My all time favorite movie although being a “kids” movie would have to be Spirit (the horse movie). I say Spirit for the fact that it teaches to never give up no matter the situation your in, has an awesome music score, and for the fact that it shows even if you reach your lowest of points things will work out.

Why Global Studies? I chose Global Studies as a major for the fact that I’ve always had a love for other cultures and figuring out what’s going on in the world around me. I tried to find a major that fit those two things along with including my love for languages and how I want to travel and I stumbled upon Global Studies back at the beginning of my senior year of High school. Looking at the description I knew I had found the right major, and now after completing my first semester and starting my second I just can’t wait to share what I’ve learned. So far I’ve been able to take an Asian art history class, Chinese, and the global studies 201 class, etc. and the more I take and dive into the major the more I’m glad I found it.

Education Abroad: Since being a freshman I have yet to study abroad, but I have my sights set on many places to go along with my region and I know UNL will help me get to these places sometime within the next 4 years.

Post graduation plans: Although being a freshman I’ve already been thinking of what I want to go into which at this time is I would love to become a Translator/Interpreter due to the growing diversity especially here in Nebraska.
