The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three-to-four week programmes for US undergraduate students. Participants can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university.
The US-UK Fulbright Commission UK Summer Institutes are made possible through generous donations from private individuals and our partnership with some of the top UK institutions.
Depending on the Institute, students will have the opportunity to:
1. Study alongside leading academics and professionals
2. Develop knowledge in specific fields
3. Experience cultural and social events
4. Visit UK cultural sites and areas of scenic beauty
5. Receive credit to transfer to their home institution
6. Meet people from different backgrounds and cultures
7. Become an ambassador for studying in the UK, for the Fulbright Commission and their host institution(s)
The Institute costs covered by the Fulbright Commission and its partner institutions include:
1. Return US-UK airfare
2. Tuition and fees at the host institution
3. Accommodation
4. In some cases, a small daily allowance for meals
To be eligible, students must*:
1. Be a US citizen and possess a US passport
2. Have had little or no study/travel outside of the US or North America
3. Have a minimum GPA of 3.7
4. Be at least 18 years old by the start of the programme
5. Be able to participate in the programme in its entirety
6. Have at least two years of undergraduate study remaining after the Institute finishes
