Favorite book and why:
My favorite book is Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. The book is a powerful meditation on the role that violence and war have played in American history as well as how the cycle of violence destroys the lives of all involved in it.
Favorite movie and why:
My favorite movie is The End of Evangelion. To me, the movie is about overcoming fears and insecurities to live life fully.
Why Global Studies?
I chose Global Studies because I wanted to expand my horizons and gain a better understanding of other peoples and cultures. My favorite class I took through Global Studies was History of Islam, as it was an in-depth look at a history that is often misunderstood and still has ramifications to this day. My advice to new Global Studies majors is to not be afraid to take advantage of all the amazing opportunities that being part of Global Studies offers you.
Study abroad experience:
This past summer I studied in Berlin, Germany at Freie Universität, taking intensive German language classes.
Post-Graduation Plans:
My career goal is to serve as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
