Are you still finalizing classes for the fall semester? Consider taking HIST 379: U.S. & Middle East - a new course focusing on A chronological survey of the American Foreign Policy in the Middle East from the 19th century until the Presidency of Donald Trump. Themes include: the development of the U.S.-Israeli alliance; the Cold War period; economic and strategic concerns; domestic interest groups and the U.S. role in the region; the international impact of the Iranian revolution; United States policy towards the Gulf and the Iraq wars; the Arab Spring and the rise of ISIS.

This course can be substituted into either the Africa & Middle East region or the Global Security & Foreign Policy theme.
