On September 14, 2022 at 5:00 pm in 228 South Hardin Hall, Dennis Ferraro will lead a meeting about the Spring Break Trip 2023 to Puerto Rico.
Experience the rain forests and dry forests, snorkel on a tropical reef, explore tropical rivers, underground caves and beaches of Puerto Rico. Visit research stations and interact with the people of Puerto Rico and your fellow students. All must enroll in NRES 492-001 (Tropical Island Ecosystems – 3 credit hours) to be accepted for the trip. The course will meet for two hours each week in the Spring Semester 2023. The trip is over Spring Break 2023 and cost approximately $2500 (actual cost will be determined at a later time.) Contact Dennis Ferraro at dferraro1@unl.edu.
On September 15, 2022 at 5:00 pm in 901 South Hardin Hall, John Carroll will lead a meeting about the Summer 2023 trip to South Africa
Spend a month camping in the South Africa bush learning about the national history of the bushveld. The Makuleke Concession of Kruger National Park represents the diversity of modern conservation issues in Africa? with enormous numbers of wildlife that conflict with local villages and agriculture. Students in the course will experience phenomenal wildlife and learn about the challenges South Africa faces during this period of rapid change. The trip is May 20, 2023 to June 20, 2023.
