Master Naturalist training planned

Fontenelle Forest and the Nebraska Master Naturalist Program will host the National Association for Interpretation’s (NAI) Certified Interpretive Trainer workshop at Camp Brewster during the week of Oct. 15-19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The workshop is designed to improve trainers’ skills using NAI's Certified Interpretive Guide curriculum as well as other materials that will help trainers become better facilitators and evaluators.

The cost is $625 for NAI members and $700 for non-members. Participants must also provide evidence of eligibility for certification at the professional Certified Interpretive Trainer level. Upon completion of the course and meeting the other requirements for being a Certified Interpretive Trainer, participants can use NAI's curriculum and certify staff and volunteers at other sites. To learn more about the workshop or to register, please visit the Certification and Training Calendar of Workshops at http://www.interpnet.com.

The Nebraska Master Naturalist Program is part of a nationwide volunteer training program designed to train master volunteers to conduct conservation education, outreach, and service in their communities.

Certified Nebraska Master Naturalists have become part of an essential volunteer network dedicated to conserving Nebraska's natural resources. Master Naturalists have impacted 60,000 Nebraskans and provided volunteer service equating to more than $100,000 in conservation value to Nebraska. Visit http://naturalist.unl.edu to find out more.
