Two seminars are scheduled this week in Hardin Hall, beginning with the School of Natural Resources Seminar Series on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The Applied Ecology seminar series will host a talk on Friday, Nov. 9.

There is no Geography General Seminar this week.

On Wednesday, David Gosselin—Director of Environmental Studies and a professor at SNR—will present "Exploring the Importance and Measurement of 21st Century Professional Competencies in Undergraduate Students," in the Hardin Hall auditorium at 3:30 p.m.

Gosselin, director of the Nebraska Earth Systems Education Network since 1993, will discuss the skills and traits that employers desire most, and then examine how well environmental educators at UNL are meeting those demands.

For more information about Gosselin's seminar, visit the SNR Seminar Series page at http://snr.unl.edu/aboutus/when/seminarseries.asp?seminarseriesid=16#seminar9.

Adam Schapaugh, a doctoral student at SNR, is the featured speaker of the Applied Ecology series. His seminar, "Accounting for Parametric Uncertainty in Markov Decision Processes," is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. in Hardin Hall room 163.

The Geography General Seminar Series continues Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 3:30 p.m. in the Hardin Hall auditorium with LLoyd Queen's "Characterizing Fire-on-Fire Interactions in Three Large Wilderness Areas Using the Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity Fire Perimeter Data."

That talk is co-sponsored by the SNR series.
