The following awards were given to people in the SNR Community.

2025 Moncure Scholarship: Sarah Ulrichsen

Shannon Moncure was an outstanding member of the School of Natural Resources community. She had an intense calling to environmental, sustainable agriculture, and animal rights causes. Her research interests centered on motivational factors that cause people to participate in local food and sustainable agriculture. A scholarship is awarded in Shannon's honor. All students currently in the Human Dimension specialization of the Natural Resource Science graduate degree are eligible. They must have completed 12 credits of graduate course work by the end of the spring semester they apply.

2024 Omtvedt Innovation Award for Teaching: Jenny Dauer

The Omtvedt Innovation Award is made possible by Leone and the late Neal Harlan, great friends of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, in honor of Dr. Irv Omtvedt and his distinguished career at the University of Nebraska. The Harlans had the vision and foresight to realize the importance of recognizing and supporting outstanding and innovative work in the Institute. These awards recognize innovation and excellence in teaching, research and extension. Recognizing that innovations are often facilitated through teamwork there is a special award for teams. One award is given out in each category; teaching, research, extension and teams.
