Winn and Dauer win awards University-level awards

Sara Winn, Student Success Specialist, and Joseph Dauer, Life Science Education Professor, received awards coordinated by Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor recognize faculty and staff who advance the missions of the university in teaching, research and service.

Winn received the Dr. Charles Riedesel Outstanding Academic Advising Award. the award recognizes an exceptional faculty or staff member who directly delivers advising services to undergraduates. Examples of outstanding advising include going beyond basic job duties and responsibilities, providing support, empowerment, coaching, counseling, and guidance to enable students to succeed academically and in life. The award is named for Dr. Charles Riedesel, former advisor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University, who devoted much of his time to recruiting and advising computer science and engineering majors.

Dauer received the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Distinguished Teaching Award in recognition of excellence in teaching established by the Nebraska Legislature in 1976.
