Nebraska Game and Parks to Feature a Community Birding Day

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Southeast District’s Birding Day is May 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Schramm Park (21502 Nebraska 31, Gretna, NE). This public event will feature guest speakers Tony Korth and Joel Jorgensen of the NGPC, Kevin Poague of Nebraska Audubon, and Dave Sands of Nebraska Land Trust.

Participants will meet at 7:30 a.m. at the parking lot by the Aksarben Aquarium and then disperse in groups. Those interested should bring binoculars, bird identification guides, cameras, insect repellant, and clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather.

A hot lunch will be available for purchase for those who RSVP by May 13th. The $5 lunch includes burgers, brats, beans, chips, and pop/water. Those interested in participating without purchasing a lunch are welcome to bring sack lunches.
