Welcome to SNR
Marissa Ahlering has received an Adjunct Assistant Professor appointment with SNR. She is a member of the Nature Conservancy at the University of North Dakota.

Jenny Dauer will be joining SNR as an Assistant Professor of Practice on August 19. She will be a Life Science Education Specialist. She comes from Michigan State University where she was a post-doc in Environmental Literacy. She earned her PhD in Biogeochemisty from Oregon State University in 2012. Her office will be 502 HarH, EC 0995. Email address and phone number are forthcoming.

Joe Dauer will be joining SNR as an Assistant Professor on August 15. He will be a Life Science Education Specialist. He comes from Michigan State where he was a Research Associate. He earned his PhD in Ecology from Penn State University in 2007. His office will be 524 HarH, EC 0995. Email address and phone number are forthcoming.

Trenton Franz will be joining SNR as an Assistant Professor on September 1. He is a Hydrogeophysicist. He is coming from the University of Arizona where his focus was Hydrology and Water Resources. He received his PhD in 2011 in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University. His office will be 607 HarH, EC 0996. His email will be tfranz2@unl.edu.

John Gamon has received an Adjunct Professor appointment with SNR. He is a professor in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta.

David Haro Monteagudo has joined SNR and NDMC as a visiting scholar from Spain. His office is 243 HarH, EC 0982.

Brenda Pracheil began a post-doc appointment on August 1. She will be working with Mark Pegg. She is an SNR graduate having earned her PhD in December 2010. Her office will be HarH 321, EC 0973. Email address and phone number are forthcoming.

Mekita Rivas joins SNR as the new Communications/Project Associate. She will be working in the Nebraska Maps and More Store, HarH 121, EC 0961, 402-472-6515. Email is forthcoming.

Jaehong Shim, a visiting scholar from Korea, will be working with Pat Shea through June 30, 2014. His office will be in 102 Kiesselbach Crop Research, EC 0817.

Mirek Trnka will be visiting scholar with SNR and NDMC starting August 9. He is from the Czech Republic. His office will be HarH 714, EC 0987.

Olaf Weyl has received an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment with SNR. He is at the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity.

We also welcome all the graduate students that will be joining SNR at the start of the semester on August 26.

Farewell from SNR
We say farewell and good luck to several members of SNR. We thank them all for their hard work and dedication to the School.

Cristina Domingo, visiting scholar with NDMC, has concluded her visit and returned to Spain.

Song Feng’s last day with SNR will be August 15. He has taken a position with the University of Arkansas. He will retain an adjunct appointment with SNR.

Wei Wang, visiting faculty member with Hong Chen, has concluded his visit and returned to China.

We also congratulate and offer best wishes to our graduate students who are completing their degrees this month.
