UNL employees accessing Benefits Open Enrollment through the Firefly portal may not use the new Windows 8 operating system and Internet Explorer web browser. This operating system and browser will not work with Firefly or the SAP GUI. Open Enrollment begins Nov. 19 and runs through Dec. 7.
In addition, Mozilla has not yet announced support for the Firefox browser with the Windows 8 operating system.
UNL and CSN are currently preparing for future support of Windows 8 for Enterprise applications. All campus networking has been upgraded to support new Windows 8 features. Unfortunately we are unable to recommend the use of Windows 8 at this time in the enterprise environment due to the lack of support by Firefly.
In the coming weeks, Information Services will be providing demonstration/training for Windows 8. Specific questions about Windows 8, Internet Explorer and Firefly may be directed to the CSN Helpdesk at 402-472-7373.
