Jackie Allen Trio to play Valentine's Day concert

The Jackie Allen Trio will perform a Valentine's Day jazz concert 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Sheldon Museum of Art's Great Hall. Admission includes dessert and a glass of champagne.

Tickets for the "Heartbeat" performance are $25 for members of the Sheldon Art Association, and $30 for nonmembers.

Allen's talent has taken her across the globe. She has toured Morocco, Brazil and China where she was the only jazz artist to headline at the Beijing Music Festival. She performs frequently in Europe, and was featured at Chatelet Hall and at the Paris 2008 Bass Festival. Nationally she has toured both coasts and in between appearing numerous times in Los Angeles and in New York City at the Blue Note and The Josef Papp Public Theater.

Other members of the trio are Allen's husband Hans Sturm (double bass), and Tom Larson (piano). Both Sturm and Larson are faculty in UNL's School of Music.
