Chiara String Quartet to present Hixson-Lied Concert Nov. 29

The Chiara String Quartet will present the next concert in the Hixson-Lied Concert Series at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 29 in Kimball Recital Hall.

Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. Tickets are available at the Lied Center Box Office, 402-472-4747, or at the door.

The Chiara String Quartet is Rebecca Fischer and Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; and Gregory Beaver, cello. The Chiara have been in residence in the UNL School of Music since 2005.

Their Nov. 29 program includes Mozart’s “String Quartet in G Major, K. 387;” the Nebraska premiere of Hans Tutschku’s “Behind the Light for quartet and electronics;” and Debussy’s “String Quartet in G Minor, Op. 10.”

In addition, the Chiara String Quartet has partnered with Matt Talbot Kitchen for the “Music for Hope Concert Series Featuring the Chiara String Quartet.” The next concert in the series is 6 p.m., Nov. 28. The performances take place after dinner and will be for the poor and homeless clients of Matt Talbot and other agencies serving the poor in Lancaster County.

The “Music for Hope” concerts are not open to the public.
