The College of Journalism and Mass Communications is offering “Friday University,” a series of seminars about communication challenges.

The hands-on seminars are taught by experienced faculty who use a variety of engaging, classroom-tested techniques and methods to make the topics meaningful. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the concepts they’ve learned in individual and group exercises.

“Friday University” sessions are held in Andersen Hall. Registration for a half-day session is $75. Attending both morning and afternoon sessions cost $125. Morning sessions are 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are 1 to 4 p.m.

The first Friday University covers "The Grammar Tool Kit," by Charlyne Berens, and "Online Collaboration Tools" by Steve Janssen, on Feb. 3. Registrations are due by Feb. 1.
