NEW Digital LSAT
As of July, the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) changed the format of the LSAT exam from a paper/pencil style of exam to a digital exam. Students complete the exam using tablets provided by the LSAC. The content of the exam is not changing, just the method of delivery. This change in testing environment suggests that students will benefit from preparing in more web-based or digital formats, rather than just using paper/pencil resources.
We are currently researching the best option for our free Practice LSAT program. Our desire is to find a way for students to practice the LSAT in a more digital format, but we are still working to find the best option going forward. In light of this, our Practice LSAT program will be delayed and no practice LSATs will be offered until late fall or early spring. But we will be sure to reach out again and let you know when we are starting the practice LSATs again.
LSAT Administration Schedule
Over the last year, LSAC has made significant changes to the traditional LSAT exam schedule, in an effort to offer more LSAT exam date options for students. Instead of all LSAT exams being administered on Saturdays, the majority of exams are now scheduled to be on Mondays, with a couple on Saturdays. There have been some reports that the LSAC struggled to find testing sites large enough to accommodate the Monday exams and so students have run into the problem of the popular fall exam dates being closed. In many cases, students also have to make arrangements to miss classes for a Monday LSAT exam. This has caused some increased questions from students about registering for and/or rescheduling exams.

- We are prepared to advise students on how to best study for the digital LSAT using both paper/pencil resources and online resources available today. More digital resources have been promised and we are keeping up with those offerings as we are made aware.
- Students can obtain free copies of practice LSATs from our front desk if they want to practice on their own. Just send them over to pick one up.
- Please send students to us if they have scheduling questions about the LSAT or are having trouble registering for or rescheduling their LSAT. The policies for registering and rescheduling have been changing almost daily, but we’re keeping up with the information so that we can help advise students who have questions about rescheduling or registering.
- Attached you’ll find a digital sign for our Pre-Law Orientation on Sept. 18. If you have a place to post it in your space, please feel free to do so. We welcome any student who is new to pre-law to attend. At the orientation, we overview what it means to be pre-law, discuss helpful activities students can engage in to prepare for law school, and share a year by year 4 year pre-law plan.
- The list of all of our Pre-Law Workshops for the fall semester is up on our website (https://explorecenter.unl.edu/docs/fall-19-pre-law-events.png). If you would like some hard copies of the workshop flyer, please let me know and I will send some to you next week.
