GPA and Final Grades

Final grades are due within five calendar days (excluding Sunday and Christmas, if applicable) after the scheduled final exam date.

How to check your GPA:
1) Visit the Academics tab in MyRed (see the tip sheet below)
2) Check your Degree Audit (your official GPA is posted near the bottom in Graduation Requirements)
3) Check your Unofficial Transcript (on the Academics tab in MyRed)
PDF tip sheet: https://www.unl.edu/about_myred/resources/StudentPortalInformation/MyREDStudentPortal-AcademicsTab.pdf

Each grade is assigned a numerical value. For example, a B = 3.0 and a C = 2.0. Check here to see the numerical value for each letter grade: https://registrar.unl.edu/academic-standards/policies/gpa/

Did you retake a class? When your grade is first posted in MyRED, both your new grade and your old grade will be factored into your GPA. The Registrar completed grade replacements on Saturday, December 28th, so your GPA should now be updated.

Grade retake policy: Grades of C- or lower are eligible for grade replacement and GPA recalculation. However, if you earned a C or higher and retake the course then both grades are calculated into your GPA. If you retake a class originally taken at UNO or UNK (or retake a class there) then the grade replacement is allowed but you must complete a form with the UNL Registrar's office. However, classes taken or retaken anywhere else will not affect your UNL GPA. Additional information: https://registrar.unl.edu/academic-standards/course-repeats/

Is your semester or cumulative GPA below a 2.0?
