
The Global Case Competition is an opportunity for students to work as a global team to solve a global business challenge that cuts across multiple disciplines. The challenge is a case study from a real company. Therefore, students will be given 10 days to conduct their research and then present their solution to the case.
Judging Criteria: Teams will be evaluated by a panel of international business professionals for overall presentation, business strategy, and quality of research. The winning team of the Global Case Competition will receive $3,000, second place will receive $1,500, and third place will receive $500.
Application Process:
1. Form a global team of 1-2 American and 1-2 international students. A team comprised of all American students with different backgrounds is acceptable. For example, an African American, a European American, an Asian American and Indian American can form a team. Teams may have no more than five members and no less than three members.
2. Ensure that at least two departments (majors or minors) are represented on your team. Team members from colleges outside of the College of Business are also encouraged to participate.
3. Apply by sending the names, emails and phone numbers of all team members to Ms. Mikki Sandin mikki.sandin@unl.edu by March 12, 2020. Be sure to indicate the nationalities or cultural backgrounds as well as the colleges of your team members.
Competition Timelines:
1. Apply by Thursday, March 12.
2. Attend a one-hour informational session on Friday, March 13 (11:00 – 12:00 am).
3. Teams will receive the case on April 13 and begin their research.
4. Q&A session with the company sponsor on Tuesday, April 21.
5. The first round of the Global Case Competition presentations will take place on Wednesday, April 22 (5:30 pm – 8:00 pm).
6. Three to four teams will advance to present in the final round on Thursday, April 23 (5:30 – 8:00 pm).
7. Winners announced at Reception on Friday, April 24, (2:00 - 4:00 pm).
