Global Immersion Student Coordinator

Job Description:
Business Abroad in the College of Business is seeking two positive, engaging, and articulate students for the position of Global Immersion Student Coordinator for the academic year 2020-2021. Employment will begin on or around August 10 and continue through the end of the Spring 2021 semester. The position is available to College of Business students who are passionate about sharing their experience studying abroad and devoted to assisting interested students to prepare to go abroad. The position will become an important member of the Business Abroad team to help reach its goal of enabling more CoB students to study abroad in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Successful candidates for the Global Immersion Student Coordinator position will understand how to leverage their strengths to invite and engage their peers to participate in Global Immersion programs through the College of Business. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing. We are looking for entrepreneurial marketers, passionate recruiters, global ambassadors, and travel enthusiasts who will proactively connect with students.
Primary Duties:
● Design print-based and social media marketing campaigns to effectively communicate Global Immersion application information, program information, and deadlines to students- keeping an open line for student questions.
● Promote Global Immersion programs through one-on-one connections, small group meetings, classroom presentations, interest fairs, information booths, social media presence, etc.
● Routinely meet with students who wish to learn more about the Global Immersion programs.
● Create and maintain spreadsheets to track the application process of each student, from when the student was initially engaged to when the student commits to a program.
Additionally, the successful candidate will:
● Assist in reviewing Global Immersions applications
● Assist in program orientation sessions
● Assist with study abroad events held in the CoB
● Assist with axillary programs (Medallion Program, Conversation & Culture Pals, IB Club)
● Assist with study abroad projects as needed

● Nebraska Abroad participant prior to start of position

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work independently and in a team setting, collaborating virtually and in-person
● Creativity and critical thinking skills
● Ability to manage time, balancing multiple tasks at once
● Current student in the College of Business
● Experience working with MS Office, other creative software is preferred but not required
