Freshmen Campus Leadership Associates

Freshman Campus Leadership Associates (FCLA) is an appointed group of 24 incoming freshmen students who serve a year-long term. Two previous FCLA members facilitate the program each year to cultivate a personal development curriculum.

Throughout the academic year, the appointed cohort meets on Wednesdays from 5 to 6, in addition to attending a retreat each semester. The cohort gets involved within the Lincoln community by volunteering and raising money for local causes like the Husker Food Pantry.

FCLA is a committee within the student government. Throughout the year freshmen gain an understanding of the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska (ASUN) and learn about more committees and other positions in student government.

FCLA, as an organization, opens many doors during your first year on campus. On top of gaining a close group of friends, you will also promote change on campus by learning a student-developed project either yourself or in pairs. Past FCLA alumni have paved the way to installing streetlights on campus to make campus safer, implemented task forces, and more.

Applications are available now through September 13th. You can apply for FCLA at https://asun.unl.edu/. An appointed selection committee will process the applications and select 24 students to participate in FCLA.
