How does the waitlist work?
As students update their spring schedules, they may add and drop classes. As this happens, there could be movement on the waitlists and opportunities to get into the class you’ve been waiting for.
If someone drops a class that is full, the waitlist will run overnight. MyRED will automatically enroll the first person on the waitlist, IF they
1. are not enrolled in another section,
2. do not have a time conflict,
3. do not have any registration holds, and
4. will not go over the maximum credit hour limit.
If person #1 cannot be enrolled because of one of those issues, then MyRED will try to enroll person #2, #3 and so on, until either the class is full again or MyRED has checked everyone on the waitlist.
How do you know your position on the waitlist?
As students move from the waitlist into being enrolled in the course, your waitlist position will move up. You can check your position on the waitlist by going to MyRED,
1. Hover on Enrollment and click on edit enrollment and a pop up window will open. LEAVE THE WINDOW OPEN.
2. Select the Semester
3. Click the tab labeled “My Class Schedule”
4. Select list-view make sure “Show Waitlisted Classes” has a check mark next to it. A schedule should appear with waitlisted classes included.

MNGT 430 – HR Analytics
If you want a class that directly strengthens your resume and helps you stand out in job interviews, consider enrolling in Human Resource Analytics (MNGT 430).
This course was created specifically from feedback from organizations based on the skills they both value in applicants and feel are missing from students. The course is career-focused and designed to give you hands-on experience that puts you in the role of an HR analyst as you work directly with Omaha Steaks on real hiring and training challenges using their live workforce data. You will learn and apply core HR analytics principles as you gain experience using R Studio and Tableau, tools specifically used by HR and people analytics teams. You turn your findings into practical recommendations for organizational leaders. As one former student shared “Thanks to what I learned in your class, I was able to generate meaningful insights and communicate them effectively to the site leadership. The senior leadership team was impressed by the analytics, and I was offered a full-time position upon graduation…My site leader even mentioned that this project could potentially influence how the specific building type I was working at operates company-wide.” MNGT 430 helps you to separate yourself on the job market, gives you real project experience, and builds in-demand analytics skills.
MNGT 413 – Building Ethical and Sustainable Organizations
MNGT 413 Building Ethical and Sustainable Organizations examines how organizations navigate complex ethical, social, and sustainability challenges in modern business environments. Throughout the course, students engage deeply with foundational ethical frameworks, including utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics, care ethics, and justice theories, and apply these frameworks to real-world organizational dilemmas involving data privacy, wage disparity, environmental responsibility, stakeholder management, and workplace culture. We analyze contemporary cases, debate emerging issues, and evaluate how leaders make principled decisions under competing pressures. Students will develop skills in ethical reasoning, values-based leadership, and critical analysis, while also exploring how ethical systems support long-term organizational resilience and social impact. This course is especially valuable for students interested in leadership, HR, corporate responsibility, marketing, consulting, and any field that requires navigating ethically ambiguous situations with clarity and integrity.
