Don’t miss your chance to have an epic Spring Break – the application deadline for the Guyana program and the Togo program has been extended to Monday, November 6.
Togo is a small country with bountiful potential for tourism expansion and agricultural innovation. This spring break, Dr. Kalu Osiri will lead a group of students on a multi-disciplinary project to western Africa. The group will be comprised of two teams, one team focusing on developing a tourism plan for the capital city of Lome, while the other team travels north to develop a crop management strategy and work to build a solar powered center pivot for irrigation. An additional stipend is provided for the cost of this program. Students will earn 3 credits in BSAD 491. Apply at http://go.unl.edu/togoapp
Guyana is known as the best kept secret in South America. Located along the northern coast, the country is rich in biodiversity from its rain forests and natural wonders. During Spring Break, Dr. Colin Ramsay will lead a group of students to Guyana to present to government officials the plan they’ve developed for sustainable eco-tourism. In its second year, the Guyana program will expand to look at the impact the mining industry has on the country and what steps it could make to sustainably mine while preserving the environment. Students will earn 3 credits in BSAD 491. Apply at http://go.unl.edu/guyanaapp
