Global Immersion - Winter Break Abroad Programs

The winter break abroad programs to Panama and to Benin are still accepting applications via MyWorld through Saturday, September 15. These programs are a great opportunity for you to earn business credit while having a culturally immersive experience in a frontier market – over the winter break! Additional scholarships are available. The courses associated with the programs will begin the week of September 30.

Panama – December 26-January 6 – The Panama group will explore Panama City and work on development and export projects. Students will enroll in BSAD 491 or BSAD 191 for the fall semester and design a marketing and business plan for a high-end sail boat marina in the city, as well as looking at exporting Nebraska grain through the Panama Canal. Check out this video from last year: https://go.unl.edu/panamavid. Apply at https://go.unl.edu/apppanama.

Benin – December 16-23 – Led by Dr. Kalu Osiri, this group will dive into the potentials of the cash crop export market in Benin and West Africa, as well as continuing the project to design a solar powered center pivot for irrigation to expand the agricultural technology in West Africa. Students will enroll in BSAD 491 for three credit hours in the fall semester and work on the projects leading up to departure after finals week. Apply at https://go.unl.edu/appbenin.
