Final grades are due within five calendar days (excluding Sunday and Christmas if applicable) after the scheduled final exam date. Instructors are able to submit their grades early too so keep checking!
How to check your GPA:
1) Visit the Academics tab in MyRed (see this tip sheet)
2) Check your Degree Audit (your official GPA is posted near the bottom in Graduation Requirements)
3) Check your Unofficial Transcript (on the Academics tab in MyRed)
PDF tip sheet: https://www.unl.edu/about_myred/resources/StudentPortalInformation/MyREDStudentPortal-AcademicsTab.pdf
Each grade is assigned a numerical value. For example, a B = 3.0 and a C = 2.0. Check here to the numerical value for each letter grade: https://registrar.unl.edu/academic-standards/policies/gpa/
Did you retake a class? When your grade is first posted in MyRed, both your new grade and your old grade will be factored in your GPA. The Registrar will update all grade replacements on Saturday, December 22 so check your GPA again on December 23 to see your new (and hopefully improved) cumulative GPA.
Grade retake policy: Grades of C- or lower are eligible for grade replacement and GPA recalculation. However, if you earned a C or higher and retake the course then both grades are calculated into your GPA. If you retake a class originally taken at UNO or UNK (or retake a class there) then the grade replacement is allowed but you must complete a form with the UNL Registrar's office. However, classes taken or retaken anywhere else will not affect your UNL GPA. Additional information: https://registrar.unl.edu/academic-standards/course-repeats/
Is your semester or cumulative GPA below a 2.0?
Watch your email on December 27th for information pertaining to academic probation and/or dismissal. The email will include instructions on what you need to do next. If you are unsure about next steps, contact a Business academic advisor or email businessundergrad@unl.edu.
