MRKT 490

WHAT IS THIS COURSE? The Department of Marketing at the College of Business and Union Pacific are teaming up to offer this 3-credit-hour applied special business projects class held Wednesdays at 8:30-10:45 a.m. in Howard L. Hawks Hall 223 during the Fall 2019 semester. The class will work with companies on specific business projects they are analyzing. WHY SHOULD I APPLY? This is an opportunity to build your résumé, portfolio and experience working with large companies on real-life projects. The class is comparable to an intense internship, in which you are working with top management over a 15-week period. You’ll have the chance for mock interviews and job shadowing as part of the class.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? The class is divided into teams who will work on innovative business projects and have the opportunity to present their findings to the company’s management, who will choose the best analysis and recommendations. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS? This is a 3-credit-hour class open to undergraduate students of any major and graduate students. Enrollment is limited to 25. Acceptance is based on academic background, GPA, work experience and other pertinent information. The course prerequisite for MRKT 490 is MRKT 341; prerequisite for MRKT 898 is GRBA 813 or equivalent, or permission.
