Students will be divided into small groups, working with experts from the ACLU, Nebraska Law College, Rise Omaha, and Elevate Omaha, learning about the different processes of the criminal justice system through discussion stations and hands-on activities. Lunch and cookies included.
This June, 60 middle school students participated in our Middle School Summer Program. We had English, Social Studies, and STEM classes where students learned about a variety of topics while engaging in hands-on activities. Lunch was provided each day at the Harper Dining Hall on UNL's campus. Participants got to meet new students from all over Lincoln, take field trips on and off campus, as well as earn prizes at the end of the program.
In addition, 20 middle school students participated in a month-long Coding and Robotics Program where they had the opportunity to learn basic coding principles while using Sphero Bolt robotics and facial recognition technology. Students had field trips to the Raikes School of Computer Science and Management and the NIMBUS Drone Lab. At the end of the program, they designed, built, and programmed their own final projects.
We are holding office hours to help with any scholarship or college questions you may have. A member of the ETS and Student Support Services team will be available Thursday July 11th and July 18th from 1:30pm – 4:30pm in Canfield Administration North Room 220. No sign up required.
