"What Will Fall Recruiting Look Like?"

Many employers conduct a majority of their internship and full-time recruiting in the fall. Although things may look different this fall, employers are still eager to connect with College of Business students for these opportunities. Here’s a few tips to be ready!

Update your Handshake profile.
- Using Handshake will be even more important as employers post jobs and internships but also are advertising virtual events. To get noticed, make sure your profile and resume are current and have your profile set as public/community so employers can find you.

Prepare for virtual career fairs.
- All fall university career fairs will be conducted virtually using Handshake. You will RSVP to the fair and then, based on the format the employer is offering, either sign up to attend a group session or a 10-minute 1:1 session. You will want to research employers carefully prior to signing up for a session and then be sure to follow-through and attend your session as there will be limited spaces available.

Participate in Employer in Residence.
- We anticipate some employers being physically in Hawks Hall while others will host virtual sessions. The virtual session will involve you entering a Zoom link where you will wait your turn to have a 1:1 conversation with the recruiter.

Attend virtual recruiting events.
- Some of these events may be the employer providing general information while others will use breakout rooms or other technology to give you time with a recruiter. Employers do track who attends their sessions so this a good way to get noticed.

The Business Career Center is prepared to help you prepare for this virtual recruiting environment. Watch for upcoming training sessions or schedule an appointment with a career coach.
