A new community center. Youth entrepreneurial classes. A county-wide geocaching game. These are just a few of the projects Rural Fellows have completed during their summer-long immersive internships. Since 2013 the Rural Fellowship program has connected college students with rural Nebraska communities as part of a collaborative service-learning experience.
The Rural Fellowship program is a unique program designed to connect college students to rural Nebraska communities to provide hands-on working experience while learning about and experiencing inclusive community leadership.
During the 7-week internship, Student Fellows typically work alongside community leaders on projects related to workforce and economic development, business development, early childhood education, community marketing, communication, entrepreneurship, and mental health services (to name a few).
This is for students looking to gain professional experience while earning $5,000 and free summer housing, during a 7 week long internship in Nebraska this summer.
Undergraduates (preferably sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and graduate students of any major from any university in the U.S., are welcomed to apply to this program. The application form is linked below!
