Three Things I wish I knew as a Freshman in the College of Business

There are so many amazing opportunities and resources available to Nebraska Business students that I found in my Junior and Senior year that I wish I had known about coming into college.

Here are three things I wish I knew as a freshman in the College of Business.

1. JOIN A CLUB FOR YOUR MAJOR
My freshman year at Nebraska, I joined five different clubs just so I could be “involved”. None of these clubs were related to what I wanted to do in my future career, nor were they something I was super interested in. It wasn’t until my junior year that I joined a club related to my major and the career that I wanted to pursue. This organization brought me so many opportunities, an internship, and a growing network of professional connections. Not every club/organization you are involved in must be related to your career but having at least one can help give you more learning opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom curriculum.
