Data Visualization Software Technical Sessions, Oct 1

All Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
All Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Two sessions exploring MATLAB computational software will be held on Tuesday, October 1 in the Gaughan Multicultural Center. All students, faculty and staff are welcome. MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming.

Session#1:
Data Analysis and Visualization in MATLAB
will be held 9:15 a.m. -11:45 a.m. MathWorks representatives will demonstrate how to acquire, analyze, and visualize data through mathematical, statistical, and engineering functions that support common engineering operations. The session also provides an overview of the MATLAB technical computing environment.
Registration available; walk-ins welcome.

Session#2:
Optimizing and Accelerating MATLAB Code
will be held at 1:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Participants will learn simple ways to optimize MATLAB code to reduce the execution time of computationally intensive MATLAB applications.  Common pitfalls in writing MATLAB code and show how to automatically generate portable C source code from MATLAB algorithms to accelerate computationally intensive portions of your code will be addressed.

High-level programming constructs from the Parallel Computing Toolbox will be introduced that allow users to create and run parallel MATLAB applications on multicore processors, GPU’s and clusters without low-level CUDA or MPI programming.

Registration available; walk-ins welcome.
