Friday, May 9 is the official launch day for faculty and staff to begin to access their Box@UNL accounts. Box enables users to access their files from virtually any device using their MyUNL credentials. Every account receives up to 50 gigabytes of storage capacity at no charge. A campus-wide announcement will be featured in UNL Today.

Students accounts will be added later this summer. At the present time, due to student privacy concerns, the Box Directory is disabled. ITS and the Registrar are currently seeking a solution that will allow the Box Directory while maintaining the confidentiality of FERPA protected students. In addition, ITS and Research are developing guidance on what type of research would be appropriate for storage on Box. More details will be announced soon on the Box@UNL Terms of Service page.

Departmental IT staff can request shared folders for their department users. Any shared departmental box accounts must be requested by departmental IT staff via an online form. They must provide a minimum of two folder admins.  Once the folder is created, the designated admins are responsible for all folder management.

For additional questions, contact the UNL Computer Help Center at 472-3970 or Toll Free (866) 472-3970 or email at mysupport@unl.edu.
