CASNR is currently searching for two candidates to join the Global Learning Hub for paid positions as Global Ambassadors for the 2021–2022 academic year, September 2021 through May 2022. This paid position is for five hours a week.

The Global Learning Hub, located in 202 Ag Hall, connects students, faculty and staff to global opportunities, supports international students and advises students on global learning programs. This year, the Hub will host several events — both in person and digitally — to foster a global community on Nebraska East Campus and beyond. Events will be promoted on the Global Learning Hub webpage, as well as through social media.

The Student Ambassador position for the Global Learning Hub is responsible for helping grow awareness amongst the CASNR community of the Learning Hub. The ambassador is responsible for assisting the professional staff with office-related miscellaneous tasks as well as with the planning, promotion and coordination of globally-focused events. Some of these duties will include assisting and greeting walk-in students, staff and faculty; serving as a welcoming, friendly University of Nebraska–Lincoln student representative when hosting international delegations or visitors; and helping the Global Learning Hub to promote events and opportunities for students among peers and throughout campus. Social media skills are a plus.

Ambassadors are expected to be detail-oriented and independently responsible for tasks assigned. Punctuality, confidentiality and a professional attitude are expected toward students, staff and faculty. The dress code is casual (office appropriate.)

Qualifications:

  • Have a sophomore or above standing as of January 1, 2021.
  • Be enrolled in CASNR as a full-time student for the 2021-22 academic year.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Available to work five hours per week.
  • Be willing to travel and participate in occasional evening and/or weekend activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership, writing, and speaking skills.
