Backyard Farmer is the longest-running, locally produced television show in the country, with 2022 being the 70th season. Co-produced by Nebraska Extension and Nebraska Public Media, the show's extension and landscape panelists use their expertise and humor to provide easily understood, science-based answers to questions about insects, turf and weeds, rots and spots, landscapes, and critters from across the state and surrounding locations.
The Backyard Farmer Garden, featured weekly during the season, is a popular destination for visitors, and is used extensively in teaching and outreach.
