Tyler Quick joined the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture July 18 as the new undergraduate recruitment specialist. He has quickly begun work to engage prospective students in plant and landscape systems and plant biology at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
“I am currently working on plans and curriculum for high school visits and developing a strong Instagram and TikTok strategy to actively expose the next generation of our work force to all the educational and career possibilities our department has to offer,” he said.
Quick is a CASNR alumnus at home on East Campus. Originally from Alliance, Nebraska, he started his university experience as a landscape design and management major and served as an Agronomy and Horticulture student ambassador. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication in leadership with an Engler minor.
Prior to coming to the university, he worked at the Box Butte County 4-H and Nebraska Extension Office, the Nebraska State 4-H Office, and most recently at Scheels as a shop manager managing the men’s sportswear and youth collegiate and pro-licensed apparel, gaining valuable skills related to project and business management.
“My favorite part about the university is the work atmosphere and the autonomy I have in my position,” he said.
