The University of Nebraska–Lincoln conferred 1,159 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena including 30 degrees to students in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture.

“We are here to celebrate your remarkable achievements, perseverance and dedication that have brought you to this significant milestone in your lives,” Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett said during the undergraduate ceremony Dec. 16. “You have spent years of hard work and countless hours of studying, and today marks the culmination of your academic journey. We are proud of you.”

A graduation celebration was held December 15 in the Goodding Learning Center, 280 Plant Sciences Hall, to honor agronomy and horticulture graduates earning degrees. See congratulatory video and list of graduates at https://agronomy.unl.edu/congratulations-december-2023-graduates.

Matt Mittman, an agronomy major, was recognized as a Chancellor’s Scholar during undergraduate commencement ceremonies. Chancellor’s Scholars are students who have maintained 4.0 grade-point averages on all collegiate work at Nebraska and elsewhere. This is the highest academic honor awarded to graduating undergraduates. Mittman is headed to York, Nebraska, to work in his families crop consulting business.

Thank you graduates for your talent and commitment, and for enriching the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture. Best wishes on your future endeavors.
