Kay McClure, agronomy and horticulture administrative coordinator, was very happy with her purchases at the Farmer's Market hosted by the PLAS 454 HORT 854 Specialty Crop Innovations class. Six vendors representing teams of students grew plants and produce on 80 square feet in the high tunnel hoophouse on East Campus from early March until market day on May 8. Shoppers received the equivalent of $38 in play money to spend at the market. Class is taught by Sam Wortman, associate professor of agronomy and horticulture.
